The Civil Rights Education and Enforcement Center (CREEC) is a Denver-based civil rights nonprofit devoted to full participation in our nation’s civic life without discrimination based on race, gender, disability, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Please join us to celebrate our fourth year of civil rights litigation, education, and outreach.
We are thrilled to honor immigration policy maven and now state senate candidate Julie Gonzales with CREEC’s “Just Getting It Done” Award and to present a concert by singer-songwriter Edie Carey!
Come join us for a wonderful live concert along with the usual chatting, snacking, and schmoozing with civil rights lawyers.
Interpreters will be provided.
Julie Gonzales is the policy director for the Meyer Law Office, PC, where she helps clients, policy makers, and the media navigate the intersections of the immigration and criminal justice systems. Julie is an experienced bilingual capacity-building trainer and facilitator and for more than a decade, has built grassroots political power for Latinx people, workers, immigrants, and students, and is currently running for state senate.
Edie Carey is a Colorado-based singer-songwriter known for her unmistakable, soulful voice, her intelligent, heart-grabbing songs, and perhaps most especially for her warm, engaging presence on - and off - stage. As much a part of her show as the music itself, Edie's wry and often self-mocking humor makes audiences feel as though they have just spent an evening with a very close friend.
